arcade games? I am trying to remember this arcade from the eighties, two of them actually. The first was a really cool game where a samari jumped from tree to tree, he had to save his woman or something. One of the enemies was wearing the disk straw hat, kind of like raiden from Mortal. He spit fire and always killed me. The second game was a jungle man that had to swing from rope to rope. he had a knife and had to kill crocs. Also, underwater he had to hold his breath, it was on a timmer. If you have any idea what these two games are, please let me know. Another cool game was called kicker. Looking for the names of two old arcade games? I remember heaps of arcade games I played when I was a kid (probably circa 1985-1990) but there are two which I cannot remember the names of, but can vaguely remember the games themselves. I'll try to describe them, and perhaps someone can figure out what they are. In the first, I think it was a vertical scrolling shooter of some kind, and you were piloting a plane or helicopter (I believe it could be two players at once), and you could shoot air and land enemies, but you had to watch out not to kill civilians (I remember one part where there was a long road running across the screen and I used to shoot some poor guy in his Ferrari every game). It wasn't 1942 or 1943, but similar to these. The second one, I believe it was a space shooter game, and I'm pretty sure your ship was fixed in the center of the screen, and as you turned, everything turned around the center - it wasn't Asteroids, but I can't remember much else about it! Is it just me or arcade games difficult as hell? I've been playing Mame for about two years now and the more games I play from my youth, the more I realize how brutally difficult they are and I'm just not having any fun anymore. Is this normal? I mean, it takes me something like 30+ continues to complete a beat-em-up such as Final Fight, The Simpsons or TMNT 1 & 2. I know these games were made with the intent in taking our quarters as fast as possible, but most of them are unrealistic. I can barely get past the fourth or fifth opponent in 2D fighters like Mortal Kombat 2 or Killer Instinct and I've been playing games my entire life. I don't wanna lower each game's difficulty setting as that would cheapen the experience for me. Does any of this make sense? Am I the only one finding every single different game I play to be brutally frustrating when just set to the "normal" difficulty setting?

Are Asians genetically superior at playing Street Fighter 2 and other Capcom arcade games? I've studied and practiced for over 10 years, and no matter what, I cannot beat them. I usually pick Blanka, but I also like Dhalism, Ryu or Ken. I've read the FAQs, bought the magazines and guides in the 90s, and played countless hours against the computer. Yet, I immediately get my killed when playing against an Asian or I'm assuming an Asian because the gametag usually has "azn" or some anime reference in there. They also choose Ryu and never Ken, so thats a dead giveaway. Should I give up or keep on trying to get better? I really like this game and I want to win.

Why do arcade games look & play better than the same games made for consoles? For example, both Contra and Jackal, as well as the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game were made for arcade systems, and Nintendo. With Contra and Jackal, those games look and play much better in the arcade than at home. And the gameplay on the first TMNT in the arcade is much more fluid, the details more rich, and the sprites much more animated than any of the NES games about the turtles. Why is that? Why couldn't Nintendo and developers put the same level of quality into those games?

(in this order) -Cyberball -Gauntlet -Rampage -Phoenix -Paperboy If you want to play them again... you can do a search on "cyberball rom" or whatever game you want, then the word "rom" in a google search. You should find several websites offering the ZIP files to play these games. You'll also need a MAME arcade game emulator. I get everything at romnation.net but theres plenty of other websites out there with emulators and roms for the games. I might even put Track & Field above Paperboy! Why do my xbox live arcade games keep asking me to download the full games when I already have? When I go to my arcade games on my xbox 360 they all say "play trial game" on them. But I have already downloaded the full versions on all of them! I have about 24 arcade games and I have to individually download them all over again if I wish to play one. How do I fix this? Global Star 100 Action Arcade Games. Vol1. Trying to remember...? When I was young... I got a compilation CD called Global Star 100 Action Arcade Games. It had games like Stars!, and Starhammer, and Hocus Pocus and Sky Roads. There was a Game that I Adored. You were a spaceship. You would pick a race and you would pick a vessel. You go around, Colonizing planets, fighting 1 2 or 3 opponents on a 4 quadrant playing field (in space). You could shoot lasers and missles, Nukes, plague bombs, you could get shields, even warp through space. I cant remember the name! Ive since lost the CD and I really wanna try and look for the game. It was on the bottom of the alphabetized list. I *think* it started with an S. Ive looked everywhere for the CD and on the net for the name of the game. but no dice. looking for the name of some arcade games? dont know much, but the game was made around '90-'97? it was a game where you tried to make it to the top of the screen, and there are guys that throw spears at you and attack you. you could rescue other characters, then use them if you died. each guy had his own type of attack. i just remember on the actual cabinet, there was a picture of an army helmet with "born to kill" on it... i know thats not much to go by. The other game was a side-scroller like streets of rage, but you could turn into either a wolf or a ninja, but if you stayed in that form for too long, you could not change back. another game was another type of side-scroller, but it was medieval themed. if you had a key, you could release a character from various doors that are here and there. one of them was a ninja, and another was a strong guy that threw axes. you could only have one person with you at a time. all of these games were out when strider, xmen and simpsons were popular arcade games. thanks!
