PS2 How can I tell which games will work with a gun controller and not a regular controller?

Plus, I heard that different games require different guns instead of just having a universal gun. How many different kinds of guns are there and how do I know which gun goes with which game? Does the game Point Blank work with a gun? What about NRA Gunclub?

1. is it a gun game or not and on the case it should have a pic. of a gun
2. If the game works with a gun, the case will say so. I'd find playing something like Point Blank without a gun to be rather impossible myself.
