How are those 500 in 1 Arcade Games they sell in malls legal?

You know, those things you plug into your TV and you can play like 500 games, most of which are NES games. They're not made by Ninentdo so are they legal?

1. well if they sell them in malls they might be.
2. The multigame gizmos they sell at the mall generally come in two flavors. Either they're packed with poorly-coded cheap games that are mostly tiny variations on each other, or they're just big packs of bootlegged NES games. The pirated game packs get manufactured in China, shipped over here, and sold at mall kiosks or flea markets by vendors who hope they sell them all before anyone starts asking questions. Prosecuting copyright violations isn't regular police business so the average cop doesn't know if he can/should arrest the vendor. By the time anyone figures out that it's illegal the vendor has time to disappear.
