Does anyone know how to stop getting an error message in Aveyond?

I am trying to play the game Aveyond, but after about five to ten minutes of play time, I get a runtime error message, then XP closes the game and asks if I want to send an error report. I originally had gotten game off of Reflexive Arcade and used a crack for all games on that site, but then I got the version of the game off of the offiical website for it and used the keygen that most players here use. Finally, I actually bought the game, because I really want to play it (and it was only about ten bucks), but I am still getting this message. I have tried re-downloading, re-installing, what have you. The computer is brand new with specs that are more than high enough to run the game. Does anyone else have a similar problem? Is there a patch available for when this happens, or something that I can do?

1. try changing the settings so that it isn't fullscreen, i had some problems when it kept trying to open to full screen mode.
