How do I connect to a Proxy to play online games under a different IP?

I want to play online games under the IP address of a proxy, I just need to know HOW to connect to it, and if connecting to it via my web browser will change my in-game IP.

1. It depends on the game, if the game uses the Internet explorer settings, then changing the proxy setting in Internet explorer will work, but if not, then you should use a software that redirects all connections through the proxy. I use one called iPig, it's great, but not free, though they give you a trial period for every account you make on their site
