do camcorders work plugged into ps2s for recording game footage?

i was wondering if i bought a new camcorder if i could plug into my ps2 for better recording for rock band video's.

1. do you have tivo or comcast because those usually have a screen recording device that can record while your playing without a glare or anything. i havent heard about a ps2 camcorder thing though
