where can i play free online games with my 8 yr old son?

My son lives in another city and we talk on the phone all the time, but we would like to play games with each other online. battle ship, shooting, etc... he is 8 so i don't want it to be a complicated log on, etc. easy to log on and find each other to play against each other or together. thanks.

  1. theres always the mmo runescape.......its now for kids that age and its not complicated anymore.
  2. World of Warcraft was a lot of fun for my 5 year old cousin, I'm sure someone could explain it to your 8 year old son. Otherwise, you two could try Neopets..There aren't too many games you could play together but you could help each other out and stuff. Hope that helped!
  3. If you're looking for simple games you could look at: www.newgrounds.com There are multiplayer games on there.
  4. why not just do games here on yahoo? thats the first thing that came to my mind
  5. Creaturebreeder.com is fun, you and him can share a farm or open different farms and breed your creatures together. http://www.creaturebreeder.com/ I know plenty of boys who play with their friends and family :)
  6. well it depends..,.if he likes halo....or if he's allowed to....you can download the free trial...i did it and it was so fun for my 7 year old cousin
  7. Pogo.com might be a good place. You can set up his account and then once he has been there and bookmarked it he never has to log in again.
  8. Addicting games is a free online games....check it out...but if i were you i be at the park playing with him.....lol
  9. RuneScape is unsafe for a 8 year old... but its great in a way because he gets to actually see you. But it invloves logging in and finding each other... you can try FunOrb but that also involves logging in and finding each other. You probably will never find an online game where you dont have to login because creating an account is the only way you maintain ur identity on a multiplayer game... you could just create 2 ids and give him one... try www.funorb.com and www.runescape.com World of Warcraft involves a lot of things... its much too complicated... and you cant meet each other till very much later in the game... so i dont recommend that. I suggest you play the games a little before you play them with him.
  10. i would agree with zach world of warcraft is great for young kids...although you have to pay for retail you can search 'private wow servers' and find a selection of free world of warcraft servers...you still have to purchase the disk though which is around £10 www.newgrounds.com is great too and www.wellbored.com
  11. You could try nick.com it has many nickelodeon games on there(or nickjr.com). There is also runescape.com, it's where you make a person and kill monsters and train and get money. You could also try neopets.com its where you make a little animal and buy food for it, buy clothes and play games to earn money. The games are very easy. And one more is noggin.com. Hope this is helpful! (:
  12. If u want to play games while alot of other people is playing then that's called a mmorpg(massively multiplayer online role-playing game) if ur interested check out this http://freemmorpglist.com/ If ur talking about "flash games" I would suggest http://www.addictinggames.com/index.html, and/or http://www.newgrounds.com/ (but i would recommend a simple yahoo search for a good site if this is what u want)
  13. Buy 2 Webkinz stuffed animals, the codes on the tags get you on the website (for 1 year). Then you can see your pets online at their home and invite your son's pet to your virtual house. You can buy them online or at gift shops. You might like the new kangaroo, it gives you a virtual jeep. But mostly they have dogs. You can set up the usernames and passwords immediately and mail him the stuffed animal later. Keep the codes, because it's the only way to change the password, incase he plays it too much. Also, warn him that the website sometimes logs you out (so he doesn't get upset) when you change rooms inviting people over, it'll say he went home when he didn't. So, it's better to meet him at the clubhouse to play games like battleship (Dogbeard's bathtub battles), checkers and link'd (connect four). The winners get kinz cash to buy clothes, food, cars and furniture... it's really nice and safe. The chat room has preselected phrases to click on. So, you could be playing tonight if you check their website's store locator and just buy any 2 pets. He'll want more later, my 10 year old has a kangaroo, 2 frogs and 3 dogs. The first time we went to the store to get a poodle for my daughter, they only had a frog there. My daughter said, "nobody wants a frog". So, my son had to rescue him. I was surprised he wanted a stuffed animal, he hadn't hugged his regular stuffed animals in years. Now my daughter has 14 webkinz and they make movies with them and play together so nicely. Well, except for the messy ski slope they just made on my stairway, they taped snowboards to the animals. It's really great for their imagination. I wish I didn't let my son ever go on neopets.com at 8 years old, because it talks about evil things...haunted woods, gross food. He used to go online playing their scary games before school, then get stressed out more at school (like it just increased his stress factor for the day). Now he's 10 and gets cyber bullied on the neopets chat section, because he's talking with kids from high school and college. You can get a neopet account for yourself to see what it's all about (first) because he might want an account there if his friends have one. But, he really should wait at least 2 years or use your account... or never join. It takes a lot of time away from school work.
