How long do saved games actually last on Nintendo 64 games? Whats the life span of the internal memory?

Curious as to how long saved games last on n64 cartridges. It must be a ridiculous amount of years. I bet even old NES Zelda cartridges can still save games. Its was a genious idea.

1. I have Zelda 1 and 2, dragon warrior 1-4, final fantasy, ultima QOA and Exodus on NES and they still save. So thats 20 years or so
