Can I run a game off a tower that is plugged in to my laptop?

My laptop doesn't have enough memory on the video card to play campaign games. I took my laptop in and multiple nerds have told me there is nothing that can be done except to replace the motherboard. Can get a cheap tower with just the essentials, enough video card memory in it to play these games, plug it into my laptops usb drive and play the game off my laptop that way?

1. no it is impossible unless you transfer the whole game via usb data link cable or installing the game by the cd's but either way the graphics and video card will still suck unless u buy a new mobo or try and find a rare external external graphics card.
