3. Well, the best online pokemon game is a battle simulator in which you can quickly battle many players around the world, easily find matches and ladder up with your wins. During the GBA 3rd generation era the online pokemon game every one used for this purpose was netbattle. However, now that D/P has been released, 4th generation online pokemon is played using Shoddy Battle. http://shoddybattle.com/ It is a free client/server program that you can download and run as a java application. There are hundreds of players online at any given time and one of the most popular servers is smogon (koffing) university. The accompanying website can be found here: http://www.smogon.com/ The site has a great online pokemon community in the forums and provides great strategy and game info. It also has a section that goes a long with its shoddy server found here that contains a leaderboard, etc.: http://www.smogon.com/shoddybattle/ I highly recommend shoddy to any serious pokemon player as it is currently for the most part "the netbattle of D/P".
4. There are lots of free online pokemon games some are good some are really bad. I go to http://onlinepokemongames.blogspot.com/ to find them , it has a good list. Pokemon Global is good but it was being updated last time I looked.
