- Stores will often still return items that are opened. You could tell him something like "I opened it and realized that my TV is too old to plug it into." A lot of older tv's don't have AV jacks, so it's a perfectly viable excuse. You can just say you opened it and realized just then that it wouldn't work - nobody needs to know you played it. Stores rarely ask questions, especially if you have the receipt. One thing to note, though - You may need the card it was purchased with in order to return it, so your mom might need to be there. Stores will not give cash for returned items purchased with a credit card, but you may luck out with them giving you store credit/gift card.
- You dont need a plan just take it back to walmart for a refund or exchange. Its not like its a Ps3 or Wii Game.
- I have many times tried to return things, but they always tell me that they can only exchange it for the same game due to copyright issues.
- You shouldn't have a problem at all. Simply take the game back and tell them that it was a Christmas present or Birthday present and you would like to get a refund. Don't even mention it was used / opened. If that should fail then do this. Go to a different retail store that sells the same thing. Let's say a Target. Then take the new item from Target to Wal-Mart and tell them that you would like to exchange the "Brand New" item for something else in the store. Then when they ask you for a receipt tell them that you don't have it anymore and that you bought it with cash (that way it can't be found on a debit or credit card) After you have done this they will tell you that it's okay to get a refund for the product but they can only refund you through a store gift card. They won't give you cash because they want you to still buy something of equal value from the store. Also, even though it cost $40.00 bucks they will only give you $20.00 because it was on sale at the time and that's what you paid for it. So, make sure that when you buy the new one from let's say Target, that you get it for the same price. Other wise you'll be cheating yourself out of $20 bucks. Well, good luck to you.
- If yuor mom got a recepit then take the game and the recepit back to Wal-mart. Tell them that the game didnt work and they will exchange it for a new one. Then if they dont tear off the new plastic have a friend or another family member take your old recepit and the new wrapped plastic game and tell them that when you got home you decided that you didnt wan t the game. they will give you 20.00 plus tax. Make sure you go to customer service or where you can exchange games
