how do u use the game boy connector to the game cube?

I just bout a cable to connect my game boy advance to my game cube....it plugs into the game cube where the controller goes... everytime i plug it in it does not work...so I am needing to know is there a trick or something to get it to work?

1. you really have to jam it into the gba. with mine i had to hold it in place too while i was dealing with it. its a pretty big hassle. and if its still not working, jiggle it. and if it still doesnt work. you got a faulty connector
2. I need a bit more info. are you just connecting it without a game in the gamecube and/or gameboy? if so, you need to find a game that is compatible with GBA connection. (it should say if it is on the back of the case. if you already have a compatible game, I would think that the cord is busted.
