Why won't Cute Knight work?

I recently downloaded Cute Knight from Reflexive Arcade and bought it, but it will not work. When i click on it to play, a box comes up and says, [ kishi.RWG has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.] i even downloaded the newest directx just in case, but it still said this. Can anyone help me please? i bought the game but i can't even play it now.
