What are some games similar to animal crossing?

It doesn`t matter the platform . I`m basically looking for a game where you earn money and get to decorate your character / their house . I like playing Pet Society on Facebook , it just takes too long to progress ! I play the Sims , but it is just too easy to advance in your career and make millions there. So what sort of games are out there similar to these ?

1. Errr... the only thing I can think of is the harvest moon series. It's farm based, but it's similar.
2. Well the only game I can think of where you control a specific character is the Harvest Moon series, where you live on a farm. But games like roller coaster tycoon, zoo tycoon, etc. all involve making money and decorating/improving your park. Those are very fun too. But if youre looking for a specific character to play I would go with harvest moon.

5. animal crossing is the best! nothing beats that game, but the other people are right, harvest moon is kinda the same thing, i tried sims and my sims for the wii and they are all right. nothing compares to animal crossing though.
6. You can try harvest moon or new Animal crossing you can also try gmod in its role play mode or you can play maple story or runescape both are like that but they also have RPG elements
