Do you need a Nintendo Account to download FREE games like Flipnote Studio? Because I just downloaded Flipnote studio by mistake and I didn't have an Nintendo Account. And can it send a bill somehow?

- First of all: DON'T PANIC!!! The application you downloaded is FREE, so don't have to worry about getting a bill. Second: Registering a Club Nintendo account is OPTIONAL -- This does help keep track of what you've picked up & can give you some rewards, but it's an opt-in deal. Third, Nintendo runs on the PRE-PAID micro-transaction system & each DSi has it's own account. -- You have to buy "Nintendo Points" (NP's) by them directly from Nintendo with a credit card (NOTE: Your DSi will NOT store your credit card information) OR buying a pre-paid card from a store. IMPORTANT NOTE: "Nintendo Points" (NP's) are just the generic term as they can apply to Wii's or DSi. So "DSi Points" are the same as "Nintendo Points" or "Wii Points". Before you can download anything, you'll need to have enough NP's in your DSi's account to cover the cost of the download... if there is one. If you don't have the points, you won't be able to download the title. Nintendo uses the pre-paid system just because it's easier on them & you can't accidentally rack up a large credit card bill. Please be aware that Nintendo & your DSi keeps a record of the stuff you've purchased so you can download them again without any additional cost. So if you purchased Bejeweled Blitz from the DSi Shop in the past (for 500 NP's) & later deleted it, you could download it again for free. Hope this clears things up!
